ELECTION RESULTS ARE IN
We are happy to report that the recent election has closed and the proposed board was approved by the chapter voters--thank you to all who voted.

Because the election was late and we've been operating with an Acting President, the new board will assume their positions effective immediately. There are several continuing board members who will act to ease the transition to the new board leadership.
Please note that the 2012 PCC (Asilomar Conference) Director position remains open. Finding a director for this conference is the highest priority for the board as we start to get to work.
Results of the Election-related Drawings
There were 35 voters, 14 of whom sent in their names to be entered into the drawings. Kathryn Pierno of Ben Lomond was the 10th responder, winning a $20 Peet's gift card and Eleanor Vincent of Oakland won the drawing for the audiobook version of Spook, by Mary Roach. Please congratulate these winners--and thanks to everyone who voted.
ABOUT AMWA NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
The American Medical Writers Association Northern California chapter includes AMWA members in northern California, part of Nevada, and Hawaii. We have Chapter events roughly quarterly, and we work with the Pacific Southwest Chapter to host the Pacific Coast Conference.

We elect officers to serve on our Board of Directors annually, with terms beginning in the Fall. Chapter members vote in Officer elections.
Our members are often referred to as "medical writers," but the scope of our skills more properly describes us as biomedical communicators.
