Pub Med: A biomedical bibliographic search tool developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Bibliographic information (including abstracts) are free, but the full text of articles usually requires a fee or subscription. Information is drawn from several sources, including: MEDLINE, PreMEDLINE, HealthSTAR, publishers, and the integrated molecular biology databases in the NCBI's Entrez retrieval system.

National Library of Medicine: Links to databases, electronic information services and publications.

National Center for Biotechnology Information: A lot like Pub Med, but more molecular information.

MEDLINEplus:  Covers medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the healthcare system and preclinical sciences. Provides information on diseases, generic and brand name drugs, directories of doctors, dentists, and hospitals. Includes a medical encyclopedia and list of medical dictionaries.

The Food and Drug Administration web site provides extensive information on pharmaceutical research and drug development including  regulatory concerns.

Office of Scientific and Technical Information

InfoMedical has searchable databases of information on medical companies and business press releases as well as online directories of products, organizations and more.

Biomed Central: Has search engine for literature on biology and medicine, with the intention of delivering free full-text versions of peer reviewed articles.

Clinical trials: A search engine provided by the National Institutes of Health to allow public searches for clinical trials throughout the world. Also has links to general information on clinical trials.
